Last year, my mum bought us a rose for our garden called “Golden Anniversary” for my wife and I, as we celebrated our 50 years of marriage.
It is a lovely golden yellow, and a very full bloom which flowered earlier, in late Spring/early Summer as usual. it has now, in November, decided to have another go, so I’ve just written a poem about it, taken a photograph, and posted the result on the Photopoetry section of this site.
I hope you enjoy it

A second chance
A second bloom
November roses,
Long separated
From their summer siblings,
Drift,
Hand in hand,
Into the prospect
Of cold winter,
Gracefully.
Not posted too much recently – it’s been a bit of a funny few weeks, but as November unfolds, I can get back into poeting a bit more so, just for a bit of fun, I have posted an haiku, using the phonetic alphabet.
November also brings a local, and extremely popular, open mic night in our village, and I’m also doing a six minute radio slot on North Manchester FM on Hannah Kate’s show on 8th November (14:00 to 16:00). I’ve not been on radio before, and I’m really looking forward to it, so let’s see how that goes.
